地方自治体には，多種多様化する住民の要望に対して，迅速な把握・対応をする効率的なまちづくりの実現が期待される．しかし，現状の地方自治体の日常的な行政業務では，情報がデータ化・共有できておらず時間的・人的コストが高い部分が存在する．本研究では，地方自治体の日常的な行政業務において，職員の持つ携帯端末を通してリアルタイムな情報を取得可能とする参加型センシングを適用し，効率的な情報収集・共有を可能とすることを目的とする．本研究で開発した情報収集・共有システム，みなレポにより，地方自治体の日常的な行政業務の効率化だけでなく，地方自治体の職員による専門的知識に基づいた情報収集が実現される．みなレポは2016年10月から藤沢市において実運用されており，道路・ゴミの集積所の管理や，動物の死骸・落書き・不法投棄の発見に関するレポートがこれまで計1,740件以上収集された．本稿では，実運用により得られた知見および課題について報告する．

This paper proposes a platform, called Kugenuma Happy Board, that strengthens communication among elderly in local community for mutual watch-over among them. The platform motivates users to join the mutual watch-over leveraging health-related data acquired from a personal area network (PAN), sharing selfy pictures of smiley face among community, and gamification techniques including missions, scoring, and rankings. We have conducted an in-the-wild experiment for 10 months in Fujisawa Kanagawa, Japan. The experiment showed that the platform accelerates information sharing thus mutual watch-over among users. Particularly, we have observed that elderly users perceived other users activity from shared information, such as step counts and selfy pictures, thus strengthened human relationship in the local community.

Can we inspect the road condition at a low cost? City infrastructures, such as roads are very important for citizens to their city lives. Roads require constant inspection and repair due to deterioration, but it is expensive to do so with manual labor. Meanwhile, there are official city vehicles, especially garbage trucks that run through the entire area of a city every day and have cameras to record their driving. When we use these cameras, we can watch roads conditions anytime, anywhere. In our study, we focus on these cameras and attempt detecting the road damage, such as road marking blur. To achieve our goal, we explore the new system in this paper. This system adopts the object detection approach that is end-to-end learning and based on deep neural networks, which propose the blur region candidate and detect whether the road markings are blurred or not all at once. In our experiment, first, we obtain the drive recorder video from sanitation engineer and then annotate them. After annotation, we trained our models and calculate the mean average precision to evaluate our models. As a result, our model performs on our collected dataset.

<p>In order to encourage elementary school students unfamiliar with Japanese calligraphy to have an assertive attitude towards acquiring basic calligraphy skills, it is imperative to have an application that provides an environment which allows them to practice calligraphy regardless of the time and place. Due to the fact that this application requires an evaluation system that does not need a calligraphy teacher's assistance, this research proposes a method of automatically evaluating a work of calligraphy. All detected strokes within one sheet will be regarded as an object detection problem, therefore, the entire work's evaluation will depend on the detected strokes. Strokes are a fundamental technique in calligraphy, and are a vital component in creating a work of calligraphy.</p>

<p>観光地でのIT導入があまり進んでおらず、ITを導入することで改善される問題は多く存在する。例えば、観光地などで人物カウントを自動で行うシステムを導入することによって、観光地の集客力を定量的に分析することが可能となる。本研究では、広域の観光地を捉えた高解像度の画像から人物をカウントする手法を提案する。人物カウントのシステムの先行研究は複数存在するが、いずれも狭域を捉えた画像を扱っている。広域を捉えた画像は、人がいないエリアが、人がいるエリアよりも大きく、不均衡なデータである。我々の提案手法では、CNNを用いた密度推定に、サンプリングアルゴリズムを導入することによってデータの不均衡性に対処した。この手法の有効性を示すために、江ノ島の海岸を捉えた画像をデータセットとして用いて実験を行ったところ、既存手法を上回る精度を出すことができた。</p>

Nowadays, humanity generates and contributes to form large and complex datasets, going from documents published on media outlets, posts on social media or location-based information. The generated information tends to be complex, heterogeneous (texts, images, videos, etc.) and is growing at an incredible pace, with much of this data having a strong spatial and temporal focus. This steady increase in the availability of such a volume of information, forces the development of more effective user interfaces that would assist users in efficient visualization, analysis and exploration of the data. This half-day workshop on User Interfaces for Spatial and Temporal Data Analysis (UISTDA) held in conjunction with the IUI2018 conference on March 11th, aimed at sharing the latest progress and developments, current challenges and potential applications for exploiting large amounts of spatial and temporal data. In this paper we provide an overview of the workshop goals together with its main contributions.

MyFactor: Individual Characteristic Adaptive Estimation of Factor Information Contributing to Human Internal State

近年，様々なセンサを搭載したスマートフォンの発達と普及により，第三者による客観視が困難である「忙しい」や「疲れている」といった人間の内面状態の推定を行う研究が行われている．人間の内面状態を機械に認識させ，内面状態に寄与している因子に関する情報を人々に還元できれば，人間が自身の感情や気分を制御したり，特定の内面状態の獲得や回避といった行動変容へと応用可能である．しかし，人間の内面状態の認識・分析・還元においては，各個人の多様性に適応した動作の実現が課題である．本研究ではスマートフォンのセンサデータを蓄積し，正解データとなる内面状態の注釈をユーザが記録することで，個人の内面状態に寄与している因子を還元するために，因子情報を解析するシステム「MyFactor」を構築した．大学生13名による111日にわたる評価実験を行った結果，被験者全員のデータを用いて学習を行う「統合モデル」と比較して，各ユーザのデータのみを用いて個別に学習した「個人モデル」においては内面状態の推定精度が21%上昇した．また，利用可能なすべてのセンサからのデータを用いて学習した場合よりも，単一センサからのデータのみを用いて学習を行い，最も高精度で分類を行ったモデルを選択した方が高い推定精度を記録し，ユーザに自身の内面状態に関して深い理解を与える可能性を示した．Recently, due to the advance and spread of smartphones equipped with various sensors, human beings' inner states such as "busyness" or "tiredness" can be detected more accurately. If people can recognize the factors contributing to their inner states, they will be able to regulate their own emotions and moods by paying attention to those factors. However, the adaptive system for each individual's diversity that recognize, analyze, and provide the factors contributing to our inner state is not realized. In this research, we propose a system, MyFactor, that accumulates smartphone sensor data and user annotations about inner states to extract and provide information about the important factors contributing to a user's inner states. In a 111-day experiment with 13 university students, researchers estimated that an "individual model" developed only with the data of each user had a higher predictive accuracy for human inner states than the generic model developed using data from all subjects. In addition, the model with the highest predictive accuracy, trained by a single sensor, performed better and showed the possibility of giving a deeper understanding of human inner states than the model trained using data from all available sensors.
