     詳細を見る

This class is taught by practitioners of international development cooperation. Students will learn who the actors in development cooperation are, the development issues they face, and how they address these issues. Building on this foundation, we will select a specific development issue and make your own proposals aimed at benefiting rural residents in developing countries, or urban consumers.
In the first half of the class, students will learn about the various actors involved in development cooperation and the issues they are addressing. Practical examples of efforts to solve these issues will also be introduced.
In the second half, the course will focus on "building sustainable food systems," a key area of emphasis in agricultural and rural development by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The goal is to be able to make evidence-based proposals on how governments and development agencies can intervene to strengthen the advantages and mitigate the weaknesses of the food system.
