    Abstract

    Understanding the survival of gas within subhalos under various astrophysical processes is crucial for elucidating cosmic structure formation and evolution. We study the resilience of gas in subhalos, focusing on the impact of tidal and ram pressure stripping through hydrodynamic simulations. Our results uncover significant gas stripping primarily driven by ram pressure effects, which also profoundly influence the gas distribution within these subhalos. Notably, despite their vulnerability to ram pressure effects, the low-mass subhalos can play a pivotal role in influencing the observable characteristics of cosmic structures due to their large abundance. Specifically, we explore the application of our findings to the 21 cm forest, showing how the survival dynamics of gas in subhalos can modulate the 21 cm optical depth, a key probe for detecting minihalos in the pre-reionization era. Our previous study demonstrated that the 21 cm optical depth can be enhanced by the subhalos, but the effects of tidal and ram pressure stripping on the subhalo abundance have not been fully considered. In this work, we further investigate the contribution of subhalos to the 21 cm optical depth with hydrodynamic simulations, particularly highlighting the trajectories and fates of subhalos within mass ranges of 10<sup>4-6</sup> M <sub>⊙</sub> h <sup>-1</sup> in a host halo of 10<sup>7</sup> M <sub>⊙</sub>h<sup>-1</sup>, and subhalos within mass range of 10<sup>4-5</sup> M <sub>⊙</sub>h<sup>-1</sup> in a host halo of 10<sup>6</sup> M <sub>⊙</sub>h<sup>-1</sup>. Despite their susceptibility to ram pressure stripping, the contribution of abundant low-mass subhalos to the 21 cm optical depth is more significant than that of their massive counterparts primarily due to their greater abundance. We find that the 21 cm optical depth can be increased by a factor of approximately two due to the abundant low-mass subhalos. However, this enhancement is about twice as low as previously estimated in our earlier study, a discrepancy attributed to the effects of ram pressure stripping. Our work provides critical insights into the gas dynamics within subhalos in the early universe, highlighting their resilience against environmental stripping effects, and their impact on observable 21 cm signals.

    高赤方偏移にある中性水素の超微細構造を起源とする、高赤方偏移21cm線は宇宙の新しい目として注目されている。本研究では、この高赤方偏移21cm線観測によるダークマター探索の可能性を検証する。21cm線シグナルの強度は中性水素の密度や温度に依存する。そのため、赤方偏移した21cm線のシグナル分布は、該当する赤方偏移でのバリオンガスの密度や温度の空間分布と繋がる。そこで本研究では、バリオンの温度に影響を与えるダークマターモデルに焦点をあて、そのモデルの21cm線への影響を精密に見積もる手法の確立し、将来大型電波望遠鏡計画SKAによる高赤方偏移21cm線観測を用いたモデルの検証の可能性を追求する。
    本年度も引き続き、ダークマター(DM)として有力なモデルであるWeakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP) と原始ブラックホール (PBH)の混合モデルの宇宙論的検証の研究をおこなった。このモデルでは、DMであるPBHまわりにWIMPが高密度天体である、超コンパクトミニハロー(UCMH)が形成する。このUCMH中では、WIMPが高密度であるため、WIMPの特徴の一つである対消滅が盛んに起こることが期待される。この対消滅シグナル探査こそがこのモデルの検証となる。
    そこで本研究では、この対消滅シグナル探査として天の川銀河内のシンクロトロン放射の観測を提案した。対消滅では多くの荷電粒子が生成される。そのため、銀河内のPBHまわりのUCMHより放出された荷電粒子は銀河内の磁場構造と相互作用することによりシンクロトロン放射をすることが期待できる。そこで、最新の天の川銀河の磁場構造探査の結果を用いて、この放射の強度を求めた。この結果、放射強度はPBHの存在量に強く依存しており、この強度分布の上限値よりPBHの存在量の上限値を与えることを示した。
    銀河のシンクロトロン放射は電波観測により詳細に調べられている。そこで上の予言と観測量を比較することでPBHの存在量の上限を求めた。その結果、WIMP質量を100-1000GeVとすると、PBHがダークマターの総質量に占める割合は非常に限られており、わずか10^-5から10^-7程度の割合しか許されないことがわかった。このことは、CMBやガンマ線観測などとほぼ同程度の上限値であり、電波観測によってもWIMPとPBHの混合モデルは非常に厳しく制限される。
    このほかにも宇宙論的シンクロトロン放射観測によるDM探査に関連する研究もおこなっている。
    これらの結果はすでに2本の学術論文にまとめられてすでに公表されている。

    The statistical properties of primordial fluctuations on sub-galactic scales remain unknown. In this study, we explore the potential of the next-generation radio telescope, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), to probe these small-scale primordial fluctuations. We focus in particular on cosmological structure which may have formed in the early Universe through the gravitational growth of such fluctuations: primordial black holes and ultracompact minihalos. We investigate the characteristic signals originating from these objects in the SKA’s observational frequency bands, and evaluate the detectable abundance thresholds based on the expected sensitivity of the SKA. We demonstrate that SKA observation can provide stronger constraint on the abundance than the current limit, and provide further information on the statistical properties of primordial fluctuations at small scales.

    We have studied the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) as part of the ongoing MWA project in Australia, obtaining upper limits on the EoR neutral hydrogen 21cm signal from analysis of the auto-correlation power spectra of the MWA radio maps and cross-correlation spectra with the cosmic microwave background maps. Numerical calculations with a detailed treatment of radiation transfer are used to investigate the relationship between the initial mass function of the first stars and the 21cm line signal and show that the global signal of the 21cm line can provide information on the nature of the first stars. In addition, a theoretical model of the cross-correlation signal between galaxies and the 21cm line is developed. This method, in combination with data from future galaxy surveys, is shown to be effective in obtaining the EoR 21cm line signal while avoiding foreground radiation.

    We investigated the structure formation in the early universe through various cosmological observations. In particular we focused on the feasibility study of future 21 cm observations as a probe of the structure formation history.
    Our main results are as follows; 21cm observations can reveal the statistical nature of the seeds of the cosmological structure over a wide range of scales, 21cm observations can access the epoch of reionization at which first stars and galaxies are produced, 21cm observations can test the theory of gravity.

    本研究では、宇宙論的21cm線を用いて初代星に関連する物理をどの程度まで明らかにできるのかを理論的に評価することが目的である。
    そのため本年度は、初代星物理において最も高エネルギーな現象、初代星の超新星に注目し、その爆発による宇宙論的21cm線のシグナルの理論的予言をおこなった。その結果、超新星爆発としての現象は短時間であっても、その後、超新星残骸として輝き続けるため、長時間の間(具体的には100万年くらい)超新星残骸特有の21cm線シグナルが現れることを示した。また、超新星爆発は初代星質量によっているため、シグナルの空間的広がりが初代星の質量に関連づけれる可能性があることを示した。これらの成果は英国王立天文学会による学術誌(Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society)で発表すべく、投稿準備中である。
    またこれに並行して、初代星の形成史に非常に影響をあたえる宇宙初期磁場に関する研究もおこなった。具体的には、ガンマ線観測望遠鏡Fermiの観測データを用いた宇宙論的スケールの磁場への強度制限や、初期宇宙インフレーションモデルにおける磁場生成の可能性の研究をおこなった。これらの成果は全て英語学術誌において発表された。
    そのほかにも、宇宙論的21cm線を用いたダークマターの素粒子論的性質に関する研究も行い、その中では、初代星の形成にどのような影響を与えるかを議論した。
