    The “magnetosphere” is a plasma vortex system created in the vicinity of astronomical objects. We have studied the geometrical characterization, formation mechanism, and various fluctuations excited in the magnetosphere. We have delineated the symmetry in the direction of the vortex lines, and characterized the dynamics produced by the symmetry breaking. A "vortex" is not only the motion of a matter, but also the space-time structure that dictates the kinematics. For the magnetosphere, we have formulated a self-consistent relation between matter and space-time. By numerical calculations, we have shown the energy of the matter field (plasma pressure) influence the metric characterizing the space-time of the magnetospheric system, resulting in large changes in the shape of the magnetosphere. In addition, we have elucidated that the dynamics in the direction of magnetic field lines, breaking the symmetry, causes hierarchical connections between micro and macro layers.

    Before fluctuations arising in plasmas are dissipated and transformed into heat, fine structures of the electromagnetic fields and the distribution function are generated on the phase space, that consists of the real and velocity spaces, because of the low collisionality in high-temperature plasmas in space and fusion. In this study, we have analyzed turbulence in magnetized plasmas by means of numerical simulations on supercomputers and have revealed the followings. (1) Fine structures of the auroral electromagnetic fluctuations are generated through turbulence transition. (2) The velocity-space spectrum of the distribution function in the drift wave turbulence shows a power law profile. (3) A subrange with a constant transfer function of fluctuations is formed in the power spectrum, leading to universality in the formation process of fine-scale structures of the distribution function.
