    This study deals with scheduling problems with consideration
    of synchronized operations by multiple production resources. Transfer of a material between a machine tool and a conveying device by a human operator is a typical example of the synchronized operations. When the synchronized operations are taken into consideration, it is necessary to check conflicts between the resources before an appropriate job is
    assigned by Earliest Starting Time rule, which is one of the popular dispatching rules. A new sequence is proposed in the present paper to check the conflicts. Feasible scheduling with the consideration of synchronized operations is realized by combining the proposed sequence with a conventional dispatching rule. Computational scheduling results are shown in order to verify the effectiveness of the selecting sequences proposed here. Computational scheduling is carried out, and the results show that a practical production chedule can be planned without any conflicts by the proposed equence, despite complex constraints due to the consideration of synchronized operations. Furthermore, a blocked status of the machine tool, the conveying device and the buffer appears on the Gantt chart unlike the conventional scheduling methods.

    A scheduling problem is formulated in order to consistently manage every production resource such as machine tool, assembly robot, AGV, storehouse, material shelf, and so on. The production resources are classified into three devices, which are producer, location, and mover. This paper specially focuses on a role of buffer, and the differences among these devices are analyzed. A unified scheduling formulation is derived from the results of the analysis based on the role of the devices. Scheduling procedures based on dispatching rules are also proposed in order to numerically evaluate job shop type production with finite buffer capacity. The influence of capacity of bottle necked production devices and the buffer on the productivity are discussed.

    Mutual dependence among machines in a decentralized Manufacturing system is analyzed systematically in order to expand the applicability of recursive propagation method for scheduling, which is an information exchange procedure proposed by the author for management of machines.The dependence among machines is characterized by both the processes planning to manufacture a product and the operations associated with each process.In this paper, the types of the process and the operation are described
    in detail, and an improved recursive propagation method, which can cope with cooperative operations among plural machines, is proposed to make feasible schedules in complex manufacturing systems.
