    Eleven candidates of molecular clouds which have been made by an interaction of jet with an interstellar medium are identified from NANTEN Galactic Plane Survey Dataset. One of the candidates is associated with massive black hole in the Galactic Center, indicating that the massive black hole had an active period that the jet is emanated for. CO multi-line observations have been carried out toward the candidates. The distribution of temperature and density of the molecular clouds toward the candidate of L~ 348. 5 is revealed by the observations. In addition, MHD simulation has been carried out with collaborators and reveals that dense region can be formed around the jet.

    ^12CO(J=1-0, 2-1) and ^13CO(J=1-0) observations by scanning method have been carried out several super nova remnants by NANTEN2 telescope, and whole distribution of molecular clouds associated with super nova remnants is revealed. All interstellargas associated with super nova remnants are estimated by using not only CO data but also data of molecular hydrogen. The interaction between cosmic ray proton and dense interstellar gas is suggested as the origin of the gamma-ray emission from comparison of distribution of interstellar gas with that of gamma-ray emission. In addition, the energy of cosmic ray proton is estimated to be 0.1-1% of the total energy of super nova remnant.

    We have carried out various observations of molecular clouds towards nearby star forming regions, the Galactic plane, and the Large Magellanic Clouds with NANTEN2 submm telescope and Mopra mm telescope. We have also make use of the previous survey results by NANTEN and obtained the detailed physical properties of the molecular clouds. The new data taken by the Infrared Satellites, Planck and Herschel was used to obtain interstellar dust emission as well as point sources. Point source catalog was combined with Spitzer point source catalogs to determine the young stellar objects. All there datasets were used to carryout comprehensive study of molecular clouds, Interstellar dust and star formation processes. There results are used to propose observations of star forming regions by ALMA and our successive proposal started to give us high resolution and high sensitivity data of a nearby star forming region.

    本申請研究は、ガンマ線超新星残骸 (SNR) に付随する星間分子 (CO) と原子 (HI) を定量し、宇宙線陽子起源ガンマ線放射を特定することを目的とする。当該年度は、マゼラン雲と北天の SNR およびその複合体に付随する CO と HI の精密定量を行なった。
    大マゼラン雲の SNR 複合体 30 Dor C は、シンクロトロンX線やTeVガンマ線で明るく輝くため、10 TeVを超える高いエネルギーまでの宇宙線加速を探るうえで適している。オーストラリアのMopra 電波望遠鏡を用いた CO 観測と、ATCA 電波干渉計によるHI公開データを組み合わせることで、30 Dor C に付随する星間ガスを特定した。興味深いことに、北西部の高密度分子雲方向でシンクロトロンX線の増光が確認された。これは、銀河系内の SNR RX J1713 他で見られている、衝撃波―星間ガス相互作用の描像と酷似している。ガンマ線の放射方向とも矛盾はないため、有望な宇宙線陽子加速源を特定したといえる。
    JCMT 望遠鏡による CO 公開データを解析し、北天のガンマ線 SNR 3C 391 に付随する星間ガスを特定した。視線速度 15 km/s に渡るウイング成分がみられていることから、衝撃波と強く相互作用した星間ガス (shocked-gas) とみられる。今後、野辺山45-m電波望遠鏡を用いて異なる励起状態の CO を観測し、shocked-gas の物理量を精査することで、宇宙線陽子起源ガンマ線の特定を目指す。
    なお本研究は、同じ研究代表者の特別推進研究「星間水素の精密定量による新たな星間物質像の構築」が採択となったため、本研究計画は特別推進研究の内容に含まれ、引き続き推進していく予定である。

    The comparative study among the optical depth and temperature of interstellar grain, and intensity of atomic hydrogen (HI) and carbon monoxide has been carried out toward the region at high galactic latitude (near solar system). It is found that an optically thick HI gas is more abundant than the gas previously thought and is extended around molecular clouds. The optical depth and spin temperature of 1-2 and ~30 K is dominant. Dark gas which is considered not to be able to trace by atomic or molecular line emission directory can be explained by the optically thick HI gas.

    In order to better understand a role of the interstellar hydrogen and its phase transition, we carried out a comprehensive study of the interstellar hydrogen based on observations and theoretical studies. The observational data were taken with NANTEN2, ALMA, ASKAP, Planck, Fermi, etc. by covering a wide range of wavelength, and the theoretical studies were based on the magneto hydrodynamical simulations of the interstellar hydrogen. Major results of the research are as follows. We revealed that the HI distribution is highly clumpy with dense HI clumps and that the H_2 formation takes place in the clumps at sub-pc scales simultaneously with the CO formation. The CO/H_2 clouds under formation have been identified in Pegasus etc. over a large scale and also with ALMA at very high resolution. In nearby galaxies, we discovered that HI colliding flows trigger the formation of young massive stellar clusters in R136 etc. and opened a new window toward understanding the formation of the ancient globular clusters. We also established the cosmic ray acceleration in the Galactic SNR RXJ1713.7-3946 through a comparison of the new HESS gamma ray data with the hydrogen distribution.
