    We have bio-chemically realized Artificial Intelligence by using DNA reactions, which is composed of a well-known as oscillating DNA reactions, the seesaw gate reaction. Through biochemical experiments, we confirm that mismatched interact-able DNA sequences can adapt to perturbations of environmental change, which is caused by making point mutation in an input sequence. Based on this result, we model this reaction by using abstract chemistry and confirm that the model exhibits the same behavior as biochemical experiments. Through computational simulations show that this DNA reaction can compose the logic gate bio-chemically.

    Little is known about the role of low-frequency components in sound. The case of a 40 Hz sine wave mixed with music or sounds were investigated. We confirmed that autocorrelation structures arise when the amplitude of mixed 40 Hz sine waves is large. The frequency spectrum analysis shows the presence of superposition of the 40 Hz sine wave and the music/sound wave. When the high-frequency component of the music is small and the amplitude of the mixed 40 Hz sine wave is relatively large, the superposition of the waves strengthens the high-frequency component. And also, mixing the 40 Hz sine wave with White noise, Brown noise, and Gray noise enhances different frequency components. The low-frequency mix has the effect of strengthening the low-power frequency components.

    Sound and vibration are forms of energy propagation. We have constructed an artificial life form that takes sound as energy and produces energy. The system converts sound into a two-dimensional pattern and uses it as input to the Game of Life. After n steps, the Game of Life is re-transformed into sound, and the sound is output. The sound allows the artificial life in the PC to interact with the outside world. We used this system to create an artwork that interacts with a dancer interactively through sound.

    Much of the research on low frequencies is on biological effects or noise pollution. We have confirmed that adding low frequencies to music increases autocorrelation and enhances the higher frequency components. This paper ensures that the addition of low frequencies to music produces 1/f fluctuations.

    The response of cells and organisms to exposure to ultrasound and low frequencies has been investigated. The present study investigates the increased number of colonies when physically vibrated by a 40 Hz sine wave and exposed as sound. The number of colonies decreased when exposed to vibration compared to silence. When exposed to the sound, the number of colonies increased.

    Lotoka–Volterra, LV equations are to model predator–prey problem. In principle, the LV equations are belongs to a two-person system. Even if there are many-body, it is structurally in two-body, i.e., with three or more predators and a prey. On the other hand, chemical ecology has shown that plants damaged by predation produce information chemicals (Hervibore Induced Plant Volatile, HIPV) that attract natural enemies. Chemical ecology suggests that the ecosystem is a tri-trophic system consisting of predator–plant (HIPV)–prey. Therefore, chemical ecosystems are essentially different from LV equations. This paper proposes a basic equation for tri-trophic systems and investigates their stability.

    Viral pneumonia has been frequently reported during early stages of influenza virus pandemics and in many human cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 virus infection. To better understand the pathogenesis of this disease, we produced nonlethal viral pneumonia in rhesus macaques by using an HPAI H5N1 virus (A/Anhui/2/2005; referred to as Anhui/2). Infected macaques were monitored for 14 days, and tissue samples were collected at 6 time points for virologic, histopathologic, and transcriptomic analyses. Anhui/2 efficiently replicated in the lung from 12 h to 3 days postinfection (p.i.) and caused temporal but severe pneumonia that began to resolve by day 14. Lung transcriptional changes were first observed at 6 h, and increased expression of vascular permeability regulators and neutrophil chemoattractants correlated with increased serum leakage and neutrophil infiltration in situ. Additional inflammatory, antiviral, and apoptotic genes were upregulated from 12 h, concurrent with viral antigen detection and increasing immune cell populations. A shift toward upregulation of acquired immunity was apparent after day 6. Expression levels of established immune cell molecular markers revealed remarkable similarity with pathological findings, indicating early and robust neutrophil infiltration, a slight delay in macrophage accumulation, and abundant late populations of T lymphocytes. We also characterized the putative mechanisms regulating a unique, pneumonia-associated biphasic fever pattern. Thus, this study is the first to use a comprehensive and integrative approach to delineate specific molecular mechanisms regulating influenza virus-induced pneumonia in nonhuman primates, an important first step toward better management of human influenza virus disease.

    文章には著者の書き方により醸し出される「雰囲気」がある。この雰囲気の特定方法としては文章をどのような視点から解析するかにより様々な方法があるが、本実験では、文章中に使用される単語のみに着目し、そこから雰囲気の分析を行った。単語のみに着目した理由は、著者の背景知識いにより語彙の豊富さが異なり、また愛用語や言い回しに特徴が出るが、それが単語の使用頻度に現れて来るからである。また文章の内容に捕われず、単語自体から喚起される雰囲気から文章全体へ及ぼす雰囲気を考える。これは似た内容の文章を書いた事なる著者が共存した場合に、両者の文章の違いを比較する際に役に立つ。加えて単語と単語の連想的繋がりを見る事で著者の思考パターンを明らかにする事が出来る。

    To understand life as biological system, evolutionary understanding is indispensable. Protein interactions data are rapidly accumulating and are suitable for system-level evolutionary analysis. We have analyzed yeast protein interaction network by both mathematical and biological approaches. In this poster presentation, we inferred the evolutionary birth periods of yeast proteins by reconstructing phylogenetic profile. It has been thought that hub proteins that have high connection degree are evolutionary old. But our analysis showed that hub proteins are entirely evolutionary new. We also examined evolutionary processes of protein complexes. It showed that member proteins of complexes were tend to have appeared in the same evolutionary period. Our results suggested that protein interaction network evolved by modules that form the functional unit. We also reconstructed standardized phylogenetic trees and calculated evolutionary rates of yeast proteins. It showed that there is no obvious correlation between evolutionary rates and connection degrees of yeast proteins.

    牧羊では羊は群れとして扱われる。そして羊の団行動の制御 は牧羊犬や牧童により間接的に行われる。本研究ではかかる 環境の改変による間接的制御を「ハーネス的制御」とする(ハ ーネスの概念は制約プログラミングパラダイム(論理プログ ラミングのパラダイム)として中島秀之(現はこだて未来大 学)らが提唱したものである)。改めて見直してみると、ハ ーネス的制御は教育や医療などの様々な分野で用いられて いる。例えば、幼児中耳炎の治療では抗生物質が一般的に用いられるが、抗生物質により良性菌が死滅し悪性菌が耐性化 することで増悪化する場合も多い。そこで良性菌を患部に直接噴霧することで環境を改変し間接的に悪性菌を駆逐する治療が試みられ成果を挙げている(British Med.J.01)。このようなハーネス的制御は分野横断的に用い られているにも関わらず、概念として顕在化されていないため、理工学における課題として一般的な 考察がほとんど行われていない。そこで、本研究ではハーネス的制御の概念を提唱し、そのしくみの 解明と応用を研究の目的とする。

    子(核酸,タンパク質,光,pH)を検出し,それをRNA からなるシグナル増幅回路
    に連結させる(基盤技術は開発済み).さらに,増幅したRNAシグナルを任意の
    核酸配列(出力)へと変換する人工情報変換デバイスを作成する.これにより目
    的の入力に応答して自律的に任意の核酸配列を出力する分子デバイスを実現
    する.任意の入力因子を検出するため,二つの戦略を活用する.ひとつは,ノイ
    ズの大きな細胞内環境を想定し,目的の入力因子を高感度で検出し,任意の
    RNA 配列に変換する人工RNA ナノスイッチを用いる方法,もうひとつは,DNA
    オリガミを活用し異なる入力因子をナノサイズの空間分解能で同時かつ独立に
    センシングし,結果を任意のRNA に変換する方法である.さらに,RNA 人工増
    幅回路を拡張し,出力核酸配列を自律的に供給する方法を開発するとともに,
    マイクロ加工で作製した微小反応場によるモデル実験系を構築する.また,この
    分子情報変換デバイスの動的挙動の尐数分子系シミュレーションを行う.
