    <p>The purpose of this research is to develop a method for conducting tabletop exercises of the Nankai Trough earthquake extra information to prevent companies from suspending their business activities. The relationship between electricity consumption and the characteristics of local industries is revealed. In addition, we will develop high-density ground motion observation and earthquake response/damage monitoring techniques for buildings to understand the real-time social conditions in the region. Also, we developed scenarios of the situation by practicing the Nankai Trough earthquake extra information workshop and study group tools. As a result, a series of methods were suggested for preliminary countermeasures by practicing the Nankai Trough earthquake extra information tabletop exercises for lifeline operators.</p>

    <p>In this paper, the efforts to develop social scenarios during the extra information announcement of the Nankai Trough earthquake, as part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Science and Technology Research Commissioned Project, “Nankai Trough Earthquake Research Project Contributing to Disaster Prevention Measures.” A database of newspaper articles related to the extra information (catastrophic earthquake warning) announced during the Hyuga-nada earthquake on August 8, 2024, was developed. The results of text mining suggest that at the time of the August 8 extra information announcement (catastrophic earthquake warning), society did not experience chaos, panic, or extreme activity restriction but rather remained relatively stable. In addition, it was indicated that the importance of efforts to enhance understanding of the Nankai Trough earthquake and the necessity for citizens to actively prepare for it on their own initiative.</p><p>A questionnaire survey was conducted to assess the status of social welfare facilities at the time of the extra information announcement. As a result, it was revealed that the social welfare facilities surveyed strongly felt the risk of damage from the Nankai Trough earthquake. Using the outcomes from the extra information workshops and study works, it was developed the scenario situation data for the Nankai Trough earthquake extra information announcement. Also, it was pointed out that it is essential to implement the developed scenario data as situational input for the Nankai Trough earthquake extra information tabletop exercise and to revise Nankai Trough earthquake countermeasures and Business Continuity Plan (BCP).</p>

    <p>This study investigated the number of staff needed to provide evacuation assistance during nighttime fires in infant homes in Japan.</p><p>Infant homes lack the number of staff to assist with evacuation during nighttime fires. The following four measures are required :</p><p>(1) Staffing measures through small group care</p><p>(2) Consideration of optimizing nighttime staffing standards</p><p>(3) Empowerment of evacuation use for staff slots that will be expanded through the implementation of day care and short stay programs</p><p>(4) Cooperation with other facilities attached to the infant home</p>

    <p>This study aims to explore the elements necessary to solve the problem of shelter quality in disaster-affected areas in Japan. The researchers identified twelve positive deviant good practice evacuation shelter management cases from four significant disasters over the past ten years. Interviews with twelve leaders were transcribed. Three disaster researchers from sociology, public health, and architectural backgrounds as well as two crisis management practitioners independently extracted key terms from the same transcript. Through the Affinity Diagram method, eight mutually exclusive super-conceptual clusters emerged. Five out of eight super-clusters corresponded with areas that were prescribed by the National government-issued Evacuation Shelter Management Guideline. Three unique super-clusters also appeared to be characteristic of the competent shelter operation.</p>

    自力避難困難な乳幼児が夜間に集団で生活している施設では、夜間火災時における潜在的な避難危険性が大きいと考えられる。本研究は、夜間に集団生活を送る児童福祉施設における火災安全戦略として、①施設計画の観点から夜間火災時の避難安全計画論の体系化、②夜間に乳幼児を避難させるために必要な職員数の定量化について検討する。さらに、研究成果を踏まえて、防災教育教材を開発するとともに、全国の児童福祉施設とのワークショップ等を行うことで社会的還元をする。
