    At the midterm results symposium for the Inter-University Exchange Project on Japan-U.S. university collaboration, I presented the design philosophy and practices of international education at Nagoya University. Focusing on branching growth, co-creation, circulation, community, and global perspectives, the presentation introduced the design and implementation of collaborative international education programs, student exchange, and sustainable program development, contributing to deeper inter-university discussion and understanding.

    This training program was designed for students participating in Clinical Clerkship II at overseas partner institutions, with the aim of enhancing their practical English communication skills and clinical readiness for overseas clinical training. Conducted primarily in English, the program covered medical interviews, physical examinations, case presentations, medical documentation, and discussions within healthcare teams. It also incorporated practice sessions with simulated patients, helping students develop multicultural communication skills and adapt more effectively to international clinical settings.

    This special lecture course was designed for medical students to learn about the globalization of healthcare, international medical education, overseas medical and research environments, and global career development for physicians. Through lectures delivered by faculty members and external experts with extensive international experience, the course aimed to foster students’ understanding of the importance of global perspectives and to encourage an international mindset for their future academic and professional careers. Topics included globalized healthcare, international medical education, U.S. medical and research systems, and international career paths for medical students.

    Responsible for the planning and administration of the international summer program “Bridging Community Medicine and Innovations in Japan,” including coordination with partner universities, internal administrative arrangements, and student support. The program brought together students from Johns Hopkins University, Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Peking University, and Nagoya University to learn about the Japanese healthcare system, community medicine, elderly care, medical ethics, Kampo medicine, and medical innovation.     From March to May 2025, I contributed to the planning, coordination, and administration of the joint international education program “Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Aging Societies” between Nagoya University and the University of Colorado Boulder. The program aimed to foster collaborative learning between Japanese and U.S. students and to explore innovative solutions to the challenges of aging and population decline from entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary perspectives. It consisted of an online preparatory phase and an in-person program in Japan, including lectures, field visits, group work, and final presentations, thereby promoting global collaboration, problem-solving skills, and entrepreneurial mindset.
