    化学反応の検出・制御,物質の効率的な輸送を半導体集積回路上で行うことにより様々な化学反応をチップ上に集積した化学集積回路の研究を推進した.化学反応の検出に適したCMOS集積回路方式として,電流モードの新しい低消費電力・高精度のアナログ集積回路を提案した.これにより電位・電流・インピーダンス・光計測を統合したマルチモーダル型64x64センサアレイを設計し試作によりその機能を実証した.また,化学反応の制御,物質の効率的な輸送を行うためメムス・プロセスとの統合を行った.スタンドアローンの小型可搬型装置を作製し,誘電泳動とインピーダンス計測を用いて1個の細菌検出に成功した.

    半導体集積回路(相補型金属酸化膜半導体集積回路、CMOS集積回路)の高速動作化に伴い、半導体集積回路の時間ドメインの基準信号であるクロック信号における理想タイミングからの時間揺らぎ(ジッタ)による動作不良の問題が顕在化している。本研究においては、誘導結合通信(インダクタ間の誘導結合を利用した通信技術)の低消費電力・低コストという特長に着目して、誘導結合通信を用いた無線接続型ジッタ情報試験システムの開発を行い、その実証に成功した。

    三次元CMOS(相補型半導体集積回路)・MEMS(マイクロ・エレクトリカル・メカニカルシステム)集積システムに向けた回路の設計・実装・レイアウトを行った。低電圧で動作するCMOSと可動部分の制御に高電圧が必要なMEMS の間には大きな電源電圧の差が存在しているが、大きな電源電圧差が存在しても動作するパルスベース誘導結合型CMOS・MEMS 間インタフェース回路を開発することに成功した。

    太陽光発電が利用できない、暗所において電力自立かつ野生動物装着可能な持続血糖モニタリングを実現することを目的として、血糖発電と血糖センシングを一体化して行う発電センシング一体型集積血糖センサ技術の研究開発を実施する。研究開発を通じて、野生動物に対する負担の小さい持続血糖モニタリングを可能とすることによる、生物移動情報学の発展への貢献について可能性を検証する。

    Chemistry integrated circuits, where several chemical reactions are controlled and detected, have been developed. New analog CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) circuits based on current-mode operation were proposed to realize low-power and high-accuracy sensors. Multimodal sensor arrays with potentiometric, amperometric, impedimetric, and photometric 64x64 sensors have been designed and fabricated. MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) were integrated on CMOS circuits to control the chemical reactions and the transport of chemical reagents. Stand-alone and hand-held equipment has been developed, and single bacterium was successfully detected using dielectrophoresis and impedance measurement.
