    内側中隔のアセチルコリン作動性神経と海馬 との関係に着目して研究を展開する。内側中隔のアセチルコリン作動性神経は、海馬に密に投射 しており、海馬におけるシータ波生成に関わっているとされている。内側中隔のアセチルコリン 作動性神経を特異的に脱落させると、MCH 神経脱落と同様の記憶の向上が認められたことから、視 床下部-内側中隔-海馬間において、何らかの機能連関が存在し、睡眠覚醒状態に応じた脳情報動 態の制御が行われている可能性が示唆された。本研究では、同領域間の神経回路の動作原理、また睡眠覚醒状態に応じた脳情報動態の変化について明らかにする。
