1999年にAmbainis, Nayak, Ta-shma, Vaziraniによって導入された(n,1,p)-量子ランダムアクセス符号とは,次のような通信システムである.nビットの情報を持つ送信者はその情報を1キュビットに符号化してそれを受信者に送る.受信者は正作用素値測度によって定義される量子的復号プロセスによりp以上の確率で正しく元のnビットの任意の1ビットを復号することができる.Ambainisらは(2,1,0.85)-量子ランダムアクセス符号の存在を示し,同時に古典的にはそのような符号は不可能であることを示した.ChaungはAmbainisらの符号を(3,1,0.79)-量子ランダムアクセス符号に拡張したが,それ以来p>1/2をみたす(4,1,p)-量子ランダムアクセス符号の存在は未解決であった.この論文ではこの未解決問題に対する否定的回答を与える.

量子2準位系での状態の密度行列の固有値を推定する問題を，まったくエンタングルメントを用いない測定による推定と，2つの系間の相関を用いた測定による推定とを比較する．その結果，純粋状態に近い場合については，Hendrychら(2003)が行った量子相関を用いた実験による推定が，ある種のまったく相関を用いない場合での最適な実験による推定よりもより高い精度を与えることを示した．Hendrychらの実験では推定精度について十分に検討していなかったが，改めて，推定精度に注意して同種の実験を行えば，量子相関による推定精度の向上を，実験的に実証できることと思われる．Concerning the estimation problem of the eigen-value of the density in the quantum twolevel system, I compare the accuracy of a estimator based on a quantum measurement with quantum correlation in measuring apparatus with that of the optimal estimator based on a measurement without quantum correlation. It is proven that the estimator realized by Hendrych, et al. (2003) is better than the optimal case without quantum correlation when the true state is closed to a pure state. Although Hendrych, et al. did not discuss the accuracy of their estimation sufficiently, it is expected to be able to be realized to perform an estimation whose accuracy is better than the optimal case without quantum correlation.
