1999年にAmbainis, Nayak, Ta-shma, Vaziraniによって導入された(n,1,p)-量子ランダムアクセス符号とは,次のような通信システムである.nビットの情報を持つ送信者はその情報を1キュビットに符号化してそれを受信者に送る.受信者は正作用素値測度によって定義される量子的復号プロセスによりp以上の確率で正しく元のnビットの任意の1ビットを復号することができる.Ambainisらは(2,1,0.85)-量子ランダムアクセス符号の存在を示し,同時に古典的にはそのような符号は不可能であることを示した.ChaungはAmbainisらの符号を(3,1,0.79)-量子ランダムアクセス符号に拡張したが,それ以来p>1/2をみたす(4,1,p)-量子ランダムアクセス符号の存在は未解決であった.この論文ではこの未解決問題に対する否定的回答を与える.

Concerning the estimation problem of the eigen-value of the density in the quantum two-level system, I compare the accuracy of a estimator based on a quantum measurement with quantum correlation in measuring apparatus with that of the optimal estimator based on a measurement without quantum correlation. It is proven that the estimator realized by Hendrych, et al. (2003) is better than the optimal case without quantum correlation when the true state is closed to a pure state. Although Hendrych, et al. did not discuss the accuracy of their estimation sufficiently, it is expected to be able to be realized to perform an estimation whose accuracy is better than the optimal case without quantum correlation.
