    A precise measurement of the tau neutrino cross section would enable a search for new physics effects, such as testing the Lepton Universality of Standard Model in neutrino interactions. The largest uncertainty in such cross-section measurements is due to a lack of data on the tau neutrino production or Ds differential production. We aim to measure an inclusive differential cross-section of Ds production in p-A interactions, detecting consecutive Ds to tau lepton to X decays which are the source of tau neutrinos. We formed an international collaboration for this research. We designed and produced the detector based on the nuclear emulsion, providing a sub-micron spatial resolution for the detection of short-length and small kink decays, such as Ds to tau to X decays.     Tau neutrino is the least known elementally particle among 6 quarks and 6 lepton family. We proposed the SHiP experiment aiming to study tau neutrino properties with three order of magnitude larger statistics than previous discovery experiment. In 2015, we proposed experiment, since then, we carry out test experiments and detector optimization for the comprehensive design study report. In 2019, we finalize the report.

    OPERA is an experiment to confirm the existence of neutrino oscillation, i.e. existence of neutrino mass, by detecting tau neutrino appearance. From 2000, we started the detector and beam line construction, did beam exposure from 2006 to 2012, have been performing event analysis until today. In 2015, we detected the fifth event and reached to the statistical significance of 5.1σlevel meaning the discovery level. From 2016, by applying looser cut and including the boarder events, the signal number reaches to 10 events with the expected background of 2.0±0.4. The reached significance level is 6.1σ. OPERA has finished the main analysis by this paper although continuing technological R&D using real events for electron neutrino detection and so on for future neutrino experiments.
