3次元非圧縮性一様等方乱流における、ウェーブレット解析に基づく情報縮約化手法の開発、大規模数値計算による検証を行った。
開発した手法は直接数値計算に比べ約10分の1の自由度しか保持してないにもかかわらず、エネルギースペクトル、エネルギー流束などの統計量の時間発展だけでなくチューブ状の渦構造もよく再現することがわかった。

Coherent vortex simulation based on the wavelet filtered Navier-Stokes equations are presented for three-dimensional
decaying isotropic turbulence. Different strategies
for choosing the safety zone are tested and their influence on the precision and efficiency is assessed. We show that
an adequate choice allows to reduce the number of degrees of freedom by a factor 6 with respect to direct numerical
simulation, while preserving the high order statistics of the flow.
