In present investigation, the effort is done to enhance the grain quality in brewer’s rice cultivar Yamadanishiki with the plasma treatment of caryopsis (rice fruit) on ripening process. Seedlings transplanted from a paddy field into pots were grown in a greenhouse, and each caryopsis was treated with plasma on 1, 5, 10 and 15 days after flowering (DAF). The ratio of white-core grains to total number of grains was decreased in the grains treated on DAF1, same level on DAF5, and increased on DAF10 and 15, respectively, compared with control grains. Moreover, same treatment test was conducted with seedlings transplanted from a paddy field into pots and grown in growth chambers equipped with a sensing system to monitor environmental and growth conditions, referred to the climatic conditions of paddy fields. The ratio of white-core grains to total number of grains was decreased in the grains treated on DAF1, and increased on DAF5, 10 and 15, respectively. We demonstrated that plasma treatment of caryopsis affected the formation of white core, and that environmental conditions in the growth chamber were simulated to a paddy field. We would advocate the next-generation agriculture using ICT and plasma, “Smart Agriculture System”, for producing high-quality crops.

<p>Creating a control program for robots needs explicit definition of each action to handle inputs from sensors and produce outputs to actuator. The aim of this project is to use Grammatical Evolution (GE) to automate the process of producing multiple actions as strategy. This algorithm can separate searching space and generated program, thus eliminating human criteria bias when creating a robot controller while able to find more optimized and complex actions strategy. The evaluation is done through partially observed maze problem which objective to find goal without defining starting orientation and discoverable path along the way.</p>

One of the purposes of smart agriculture is to predict the yield of paddy rice using agricultural data using machine learning. LightGBM, one of the machine learning algorithms, is applied to the yield prediction problem of paddy rice in this paper. Since LightGBM has a large number of hyperparameters, the hyperparameter optimization using the stochastic schemata exploiter (SSE) is used. From the results of comparison with Genetic Algorithm (GA), it is confirmed that SSE has a fast convergence speed. In addition, it is found that the higher the mutation rate of SSE, the more converged to the global optimal solution without falling into the local solution.

It is very important to control the value of saturation in the adequate range in tomato cultivation in greenhouse. The prediction of the saturation value in greenhouse are discussed in this study. The mathematical model for prediction of saturation is defined by regression analysis of Ridge regression, Lasso regression, Random Forest and XGBoost. The results show that Random Forest and XGBoost has better accuracy than the others and that Random Forest is the best among them. The variable importance analysis shows that the indoor temperature, temperature inside greenhouse, is the most effective for the saturation. The prediction model is applied for controlling the saturation in the adequate range by changing the temperature.

Machine Learning (ML) models are often determined by relying on knowledge and experience. In recent years, many automatic building methods are proposed, but there are some problems related to accuracy, computation cost, and explainability. We propose the Stochastic Schemata Exploiter-Based AutoML. The Stochastic Schemata Exploiter (SSE) is one of the Evolutionary Algorithms. In each generation, SSE calculates fitness of the individuals, defines the best subsets according to their average fitness, generates individuals based on the subsets, and applies a mutation operator. Since the original SSE uses a binary string representation, we have to modify the SSE algorithm in the following points for parameter optimization: the initialization method, the schema extraction method, the new individual generation method, the mutation method, and the generation update method. In this paper, we propose a genetic representation of the stacking model and optimize the stacking model using SSE. Compared with the Genetic Algorithm, the Tree-structured Parzen Estimator, the Covariance Matrix Adaptation-Evolution Strategy, and Random Search, SSE shows an interesting feature: a better accuracy for combinatorial optimization problems with categorical, discrete, and continuous variables, such as hyper-parameter optimization. In addition, we propose the visualization of the process of SSE. The visualization helps us to understand the process, which is another advantage of the SSE-based optimization (SSEopt).

The automatic design of the control program of the vehicle robot is presented in this study. LEGO MINDSTORM EV3 and RVW Level Builder are used for this study. The control program of EV3 is designed automatically by using Grammatical Evolution (GE), which is one of the evolutionary algorithms. The generated program is applied for controlling EV3. The results show that the robot behavior in the experiment of EV3 was roughly equivalent to it in simulator. Therefore, the proposed algorithm based on GE can generate the control program of robot automatically.

本研究では，ボトルネックによる交通流の変化の調査と，渋滞形成の様子を解析することを目的とし，ボトルネックの典型例であるサグ区間を対象としてセル・オートマトンモデルによる直線道路の交通流シミュレーションを行い，サグ区間の効果と渋滞形成の様子やその伝播，また車両の挙動の変化について考察を行った．サグ区間を含む直線道路では，サグ区間内において渋滞が形成され，時間経過によってその渋滞はサグ区間上流に影響を及ぼす．また，その度合いは車両台数が多いほど大きくなる．注目車両の車頭距離と速度の挙動はヒステリシスループを描き，車両台数が少ない場合は解析領域上流においては大きなループを描き不安定な走行をするが，中流以降はループは小さくなり安定走行となる．一方，車両台数が多い場合は不安定な走行を続ける．サグ区間直前においては車両台数が少ない場合はほぼ安定走行するが車両台数が多くなるにつれ不安定な走行となる．これはサグ区間で発生した渋滞の影響と考えられる．

Some researchers presented the application of radial basis unction approximation to the evaluation of option contracts. In a previous study, the authors described the evaluation of Asian option by using radial basis function approximation. The numerical results indicated that the computational ccuracy depended on the radial basis function and the reciprocal multi-quadric function was better than the multi-quadric one. So, in this study, some radial basis functions are applied to the evaluation of the Asian option of one asset. One compares the multi-quadric, the reciprocal multi-quadric, and Gaussian functions. The results show that the reciprocal multi-quadric function and Gaussian function give better numerical results and the reciprocal ulti-quadric function is better than the others.

This paper describes the extended Stochastic Schemata xploiter (ESSE), which has the improved algorithm of the Stochastic Schemata Exploiter (SSE). The algorithm of the ESSE is composed of the original SSE and the ESSE operations.
There are seven ESSE algorithms. In the previous study, the authors compared seven ESSE algorithms in some test problems.
The ESSE-c1 algorithm shows the best search performance among them. In this paper, the ESSE-c1 algorithm is compared with BOA and SSE in order to confirm the features.

本研究では，静的嗜好情報，動的嗜好情報を用いて，ユーザが求めている情報が得られるよう，URL をソーティングするアルゴリズムを提案した．共有ベイジアンネットワークの影響により，検索対象分野に関して知識の乏しいユーザに対しても，有識者の検索結果が反映された．また，上位に表示されるURL 群の順位には，ユーザごとに小さな変化が見られることが確認できた．これは，ユーザの検索語履歴から見出される，ユーザ別ベイジアンネットワークが影響したためである．既存技術との比較を行うために，Google パーソナライズド検索を用いて，両者の検索結果を検証した．その結果，本アルゴリズムでは，従来のパーソナライズド検索では難しかった，有識者の結果およびパーソナライズの即時適応を実現できていることが確認できた．
