    We investigate the from amorphous wire magneto-impedance element in a CMOS pulse sensor circuit and clarified the average current bias effect for low-noise sensor operation. In order to raise signal-to-noise ratio, a single-core head and multi core head compared. We showed that the noise floor of the four-core head magento-impedance sensor is lower than 1pT/Hz1/2 for the frequency range of 20 to 500 Hz.

    We have developed sensitive micro magnetic sensors referred to as MI sensors based on magneto-impedance effect in amorphous wires and CMOS IC electronic circuits providing a sharp-pulse excitation. Micro sized MI-HIC chips have been in mass production of electronic compasses by Aichi Steel Corp. since 2002 for mobile phones and since 2010 for smart phones. Recently we have realized pico-Tesla resolution for micro MI sensors making use of ultralow intrinsic magnetic noise in amorphous wires with the pulse magnetoimpedance effect. The pico-Tesla MI sensor is useful especially for bio-magnetic measurements without any magnetic shielding at room temperature. In order to avoid a risk of traffic accident due to noise reduction electric vehicles, an alert systemfor the pedestrians having a smart phone would be useful, if pico-Tesla MI sensor were built in the smart phones.

    This paper demonstrates the performance of magneto-impedance (MI) sensors for biomagnetic field recording. The rms noise of an amorphous wire MI sensor with 600 turns of pick up coil was estimated as approximately 3pT/Hz1/2 at 1 Hz. Here we demonstrate that this sensitivity is enough to clearly detect magnetic cardiogram signals. We also measured the biomagnetic field around a smooth muscle tissue sample taken from a guinea-pig.

    The feasibility of MI sensor for biomagnetic sensing is demonstrated. The rms noise of the MI sensor having 600 turns of pick up coil is estimated to be 3pT/Hz1/2 at 1Hz. The magnetic cardiogram signal can be clearly detected. We also measured both hand surface magnetic field and forehead surface magnetic field. The spectrum of magnetic field at the body surface changed evidently due to both drinking and eating.

    "ニューラルネットワークの自己組織化能力を担う重要な機能が可変シナプス結合である。しかし、多数のニューロンからなる大規模ニューラルネットワークにおいて、シナプス結合の強さ(シナプス荷重)を広い範囲で記憶するためにディジタルメモリーを用いると必要な記憶容量が著しく増加し、シナプス荷重を変化させるための演算システムは複雑となる。本研究では、以上の問題点を克服し高速に動作するチップ型のニューラルネットワークデバイスを創製するために、マイクロ磁気センサアレイを用いたシナプス構造と、パルス演算処理によるシナプス演算を組み合わせたデバイス構造を新たに創案し、その集積型シナプスデバイスの動作を実験:的に検証した。
    具体的には、コイルピックアップMI素子を拡張した、可変シナプス素子を新しく提案し、その素子のパルス電流対する演算特性を調べた。その結果として、積和演算処理を高速に実行できることを示した。すなわち、実用的な半導体回路を用いたニューラルネットワークの高速化につながる成果を得た。
    また、コイルピックアップ型のMI素子と半導体回路を組み合わせるパルスニューラルネットワークデバイスとして、磁気帰還形のニューロ回路を創案した。この構成による、パルス変調回路は、ΔΣ変調回路として働くことを理論的・実験的に示した。すなわち、アナログ演算処理を高精度のディジタル演算処理に変換できるパルスニューラルネットワーク構造であることを検証した。
    結論として、本研究で新たに提案・検証したパルスニューラルネットワークは、ニューロンの発火率だけでなく、ニューロ発火電位の時間相関を利用する高精度の信号処理に適応できる。すなわち、マイクロ磁気センサアレイを用いた自己組織型ニューラルネットワークは、CMOS集積回路を用いたパルス演算システムの信号処理機能を脳の高次機能に近づけるために有効なデバイス構造であることを示した。
