不整脈死は心不全患者における主要な死因となっている。我々はミネラロコルチコイド受容体（MR）拮抗薬が低アルドステロン性高血圧ラットにおいて心肥大・心不全を抑制するか否かを検討した。Dahl食塩感受性（DS）ラットは高食塩投与後、徐々に高血圧を発症し、代償性心肥大を経て主に拡張期心不全に至る、ヒトの高血圧性心疾患の優れた動物モデルである。DSラットに対して、非降圧量（30 または100 mg/kg/日）のエプレレノン（選択的MR拮抗薬）を心肥大期から心不全期まで混餌飼料として連日経口投与した。未治療心不全ラットでは血漿レ
