We construct a potential obtained by one-pion exchange for the coupled channel $¥Sigma_c^¥ast$$¥bar{D}$-$¥Sigma_c$$¥bar{D}^¥ast$, and solve the coupled Schr¥"{o}dinger equations to determine the binding energy.
We find that there exists one or two bound states with the binding energy of several MeV below the threshold of $¥Sigma_c^¥ast$ and $¥bar{D}$, dominantly made from a $¥Sigma_c^¥ast$ baryon and a $¥bar{D}$ meson, with the size of about $1.5$¥,fm for wide parameter region.
We also study the pentaquark states including a $b$ quark and/or an anti-$b$ quark.
We show that there exist pentaquarks including $c¥bar{b}$, $b¥bar{c}$ and $b¥bar{b}$, all of which lie at about $10$¥,MeV below the corresponding threshold and have size of about $1.5$¥,fm.

We develop an effective field theory of QCD and QCD-like theories
beyond the Standard Model, based on the hidden local symmetry (HLS)
model for the pseudoscalar mesons (pi) as Nambu-Goldstone
bosons and the vector mesons (rho) as gauge bosons.
The presence of gauge symmetry of HLS is vital
to the systematic low energy expansion or the chiral perturbation
theory (ChPT) with loops of rho as well as pi.

Motivated by the 1/Nc expansion, we present a simple model of
pion-pion scattering as a sum of a `current-algebra' contact term
and resonant pole exchanges. The model preserves crossing symmetry
as well as unitarity up to 1.2 GeV. Key features include chiral
dynamics, vector meson dominance, a broad low energy scalar (sigma)
meson and a `Ramsauer-Townsend' mechanism for the understanding
    of the 980 MeV region.

It is expected that in a hot QCD system, a local parity-odd domain can be produced due to nonzero chirality, which is induced from the difference of winding numbers carried by the gluon topological configuration (QCD sphaleron). This local domain is called the chiral-imbalance medium, characterized by nonzero chiral chemical potential, which can be interpreted as the time variation of the strong CP phase. We find that the chiral chemical potential generates the parity breaking term in the electromagnetic form factor of charged pions. Heavy ion collision experiments could observe the phenomenological consequence of this parity-odd form factor through the elastic scattering of a pion and a photon in the medium. Then we quantify the asymmetry rate of the parity violation by measuring the polarization of the photon associated with the pion, and discuss how it could be measured in a definite laboratory frame. We roughly estimate the typical size of the asymmetry, just by picking up the pion resonant process, and find that the signal can be sufficiently larger than possible background events from parity-breaking electroweak process. Our findings might provide a novel possibility to make a manifest detection for the remnant of the strong CP violation.

In an effort to access dense baryonic matter relevant for compact stars
in a unified framework that handles both single baryon and multibaryon
systems on the same footing, we first address a holographic dual action
for a single baryon focusing on the role of the infinite tower of vector
mesons deconstructed from five dimensions. To leading order in 't Hooft
    coupling $\lambda=N_c g_{\rm YM}^2$, one has the
Bogomol'nyi-Prasad-Sommerfield (BPS) Skyrmion that results when the
warping of the bulk background and the Chern-Simons term in the
Sakai-Sugimoto D4/D8-${\bar{\rm D8}}$ model are ignored. The infinite
tower was found by Sutcliffe to induce flow to a conformal theory, i.e.,
the BPS. We compare this structure to that of the SS model consisting of
a 5D Yang-Mills action in warped space and the Chern-Simons term in
which higher vector mesons are integrated out while preserving hidden
local symmetry and valid to $O(\lambda^0)$ and $O(p^4)$ in the chiral
counting. We point out the surprisingly important role of the $\omega$
meson that figures in the Chern-Simons term that encodes chiral anomaly
in the baryon structure and that may be closely tied to short-range
    repulsion in nuclear interactions.

We propose a mean-field approach to analyze many-body systems of
fermions in the gauge/gravity duality. We introduce a non-vanishing
classical fermionic field in the gravity dual, which we call the
holographic mean field for fermions. The holographic mean field takes
account of the many-body dynamics of the fermions in the bulk. The
regularity condition of the holographic mean field fixes the
relationship between the chemical potential and the density
unambiguously. Our approach provides a new framework of gauge/gravity
duality for finite-density systems of baryons in the confinement phase.

We study the effect of sigma meson on the $D_1(2430) \to D\pi\pi$ decay
by constructing an effective Lagrangian preserving the chiral symmetry
and the heavy quark symmetry. The sigma meson is included through a
linear sigma model, in which both the $q\bar{q}$ and $qq\bar{q}\bar{q}$
states are incorporated respecting their different $U(1)_{A}$
transformation properties. We first fit the sigma meson mass and
    $\sigma$-$\pi$-$\pi$ coupling constant to the I=0, $S$-wave $\pi$-$\pi$
scattering data. Then, we show how the differential decay width
    $d\Gamma(D_1 \to D(\pi\pi)_{I = 0, L =0})/d m_{\pi\pi}$ depends on the
quark structure of the sigma meson. We find that our study, combing with
the future data, can give a clue to understand the sigma meson
    structure.

We formulate the general form of omega-Z-gamma vertex in the framework
based on the hidden local symmetry (HLS), which arises from the gauge
invariant terms for intrinsic parity-odd (IP-odd) part of the effective
action. Those terms are given as the homogeneous part of the general
solution (having free parameters) to the Wess-Zumino (WZ) anomaly
equation and hence are not determined by the anomaly, in sharp contrast
to the Harvey-Hill-Hill (HHH) action where the relevant vertex is
claimed to be uniquely determined by the anomaly. We show that, even in
the framework that HHH was based on, the omega-Z-gamma vertex is
actually not determined by the anomaly but by the homogeneous
(anomaly-free) part of the general solution to the WZ anomaly equation
having free parameters in the same way as in the HLS formulation: The
HHH action is just a particular choice of the free parameters in the
general solution. We further show that the omega-Z-gamma vertex related
to the neutrino (nu) - nucleon (N) scattering cross section sigma(nu N
-> nu N (N')gamma) is determined not by the anomaly but by the
anomaly-free part of the general solution having free parameters.
Nevertheless we find that the cross section sigma(nu N -> nu
N(N')gamma) is related through the Ward-Takahashi identity to
Gamma(omega -> pi^0 gamma) which has the same parameter-dependence as
    that of sigma(nu N -> nu N(N')gamma) and hence the ratio sigma(nu N
    -> nu N(N')gamma)/Gamma(omega -> pi^0 gamma) is fixed
independently of these free parameters. Other set of the free parameters
of the general solution can be fixed to make the best fit of the omega
-> pi^0 l^+ l^- process, which substantially differs from the HHH
action. This gives a prediction of the cross section sigma(nu N -> nu
N (N')gamma^*(l^+ l^-)) to be tested at nu-N collision experiments in
    the future.

Properties of X(3872) are studied by regarding it as a $DD^{\ast}$
hadronic molecule with $J^{PC} = 2^{-+}$ in the phenomenological
Lagrangian approach. We find that our model with about 97.6% isospin
zero component explains the existing data nicely, for example, the ratio
    $\mathcal{B}(X(3872) \to J/\psi\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0)/\mathcal{B}(X(3872) \to
J/\psi\pi^+\pi^-)$. We predict the partial widths of the radiative
    decays of $X(3872) \to \gamma J/\psi$, $\gamma \psi(2S) $ and the strong
    decays of $X(3872) \to J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-$, $J/\psi \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$ as
well as $X(3872) \to \chi_{cJ}\pi^0$. Our analysis shows that the
measurement of the ratio $\mathcal{B}(X(3872) \to
    \chi_{c0}\pi^0)/\mathcal{B}(X(3872) \to \chi_{c1}\pi^0)$ may signal the

We derive a two-parameter formula for the electromagnetic form factors
of the nucleon described as an instanton by "integrating out" all KK
modes other than the lowest mesons from the infinite-tower of vector
mesons in holographic QCD while preserving hidden local symmetry for the
resultant vector fields. With only two parameters, the proton Sachs form
factors can be fit surprisingly well to the available experimental data
    for momentum transfers $Q^2\lsim 0.5$ GeV$^2$ with $\chi^2$/dof $\lsim
2$. We interpret this agreement as indicating the importance of an
infinite tower in the soliton structure of the nucleon. The prediction
of the Sakai-Sugimoto holographic dual model is checked against the fit
values to assess its accuracy in describing the proton structure. We
find that the structure of the "core" of roughly 1/3 in the proton size
indicated in experiments and commonly associated with an intrinsic
quark-gluon structure in QCD is "hidden" in the infinite tower in the
    holographic model.

We explore a possible phase where chiral SU(2)L × SU(2)R symmetry is
spontaneously broken while its center Z2 symmetry remains unbroken
and its consequence on thermal quantities. In this
phase, chiral symmetry breaking is driven by a quartic quark
condensate although a bilinear quark condensate vanishes.
We find a new critical point between
the Z2 broken and unbroken phases.
We show that the net quark number density exhibits an abrupt change
near the restoration of the center symmetry rather than
    that of the chiral symmetry.

The presence of baryonic matter leads to the mixing
between transverse rho and a1 mesons through a set of omega-rho-a1-type interactions, which results in
the modification to the dispersion relation.
We show that a clear enhancement of the vector spectral function appears below rho meson mass scale
for small three-momenta of the rho meson,
and thus the vector spectrum exhibits broadening.
We also discuss its relevance to dilepton measurements.

The notion of "hadronic freedom" is introduced based on the vector manifestation of hidden local symmetry and is used to suggest that the dileptons measured in relativistic heavy-ion collisions do not provide {\em direct} information on the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry and hence on the mechanism for mass generation of light-quark hadrons. We give arguments how the dileptons emitted from those vector mesons whose masses are shifted \`a la Brown-Rho (BR) scaling by the vacuum change in temperature -- as in heavy-ion collisions -- and/or density -- as in cold compressed matter -- could be strongly suppressed in the hadronic free region between the chiral restoration point and the "flash point" at which the vector mesons recover $\gsim 90%$ of their free-space on-shell masses and the full strong coupling strength. It may seem ironical that the very mechanism i.e., the vector manifestation in hidden local symmetry, that is to make the mass drop and modify the spectral function is in turn responsible for the dilepton suppression. A possible falsification of this drastic prediction will be indicated. We also briefly discuss the potential role played by the holographic dimension intrinsic in gravity-gauge duality that provides a unified field theory description of hadrons -- both mesons and baryons -- under extreme conditions. Baryons arise as coherent states of pions and vector mesons of holographic QCD which define the ground state or the "vacuum" on which mesonic excitations could undergo BR scaling.

We study the vector–axial-vector mixing in a hot medium and its evolution toward the chiral phase transition using different symmetry restoration scenarios based on the generalized hidden local symmetry framework. We show that the presence of the a1 meson reduces the vector spectral function around the rho meson mass and enhances it around the a1 meson mass. The coupling strength of a1 to rho and pi vanishes at the critical temperature due to the degenerate rho-a1 masses. This feature holds rigorously in the chiral limit and still stays intact to good approximation for the physical pion mass.

We nonperturbatively investigate a fermion spectrum at finite temperature in a chiral invariant linear sigma model. Coupled Schwinger-Dyson equations for fermion and boson are developed in the real time formalism and solved numerically. From the coupling of a massless fermion with a massive boson, the fermion spectrum shows a three-peak structure at some temperatures even for the strong coupling region. This means that the three-peak structure which was originally found in the one-loop calculation is stable against higher order corrections even in the strong coupling region.

We non-perturbatively study the fermion spectrum in the chiral symmetric phase from the Schwinger-Dyson equation with the Feynman gauge, in which we perform an analytic continuation of the solution on the imaginary time axis to the real time axis with a method employing an integral equation. It is shown that the fermion spectrum has two peaks, which correspond to the normal quasi-fermion and the plasmino, although these peaks in the strong coupling region are very broad, owing to multiple scatterings with gauge bosons. We find that the thermal mass of the quasi-fermion saturates at some value of the gauge coupling, beyond which the thermal (pole) mass satisfies M ∼T, independently of the value of the gauge coupling. We also comment on the appearance of a three-peak structure in the fermion spectrum as a non-perturbative effect.

We study the chiral phase transition of QCD at finite temperature and
density by numerically solving the Schwinger-Dyson equation for the
quark propagator with the improved ladder approximation in the Landau
gauge. Using the solution we calculate a pion decay constant from a
generalized version of the Pagels-Stokar formula. The chiral phase
transition point is determined by analyzing an effective potential for
the quark propagator. We find solutions for which chiral symmetry is
broken while the value of the effective potential is larger than that
for the chiral symmetric vacuum. These solutions correspond to
metastable states, and the chiral symmetric vacuum is energetically
favored. We present a phase diagram on the general
temperature-chemical potential plane, and show that phase transitions
are of first order in wide range.

I constructed an effective model including the nucleon and its parity partner based on the parity doublet structure, and obtained constraints to the model parameters from experimental data for the masses and decay widths of them. Then, I showed that the chiral invariant mass is more than half of the mass of nucleon by using the constraint to the equation of state obtained in the effective model from the observation of neutron stars.
Furthermore, I constructed effective models of hadrons including heavy quarks based on the chiral symmetry and the heavy-quark symmetry. I gave predictions on the modification of masses for existing hadrons in medium, and masses and decay widths for undiscovered hadrons.
