我々が開発したGIGMICS(Germanium Immersion Grating Mid-Infrared Cryogenic Spectrograph)は，国立天文台ハワイ観測所すばる望遠鏡の赤外ナスミス焦点台に設置可能な，赤外線領域の”大気の窓”であるN–band(波長8<λ<13μm)全域を観測域とする冷却エシェル分光器である．理化学研究所の大森・素形材工学研究グループで独自に開発されたELID研削加工法を用い，世界で初めてイマージョングレーティングの開発と実用化に成功した．また，このグレーティングを用いた冷却エシェル分光器を設計・製作し，波長分解能(R~λ/Δλ)= 40,000を実現した．本稿ではこの分光観測装置の概要と，2011年に東広島天文台かなた1.5m光赤外望遠鏡を用いた観測の初期成果について紹介する．

Time-resolved Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was applied for observations of emission spectra from ablation products induced by a Nd:YLF laser with a 2.5kHz repletion rate. The infrared emission
spectra from Fe, Cu, Zn, and Al atoms were observed in the 2.5 – 5 um region. The observed emission spectrum from iron ablation in the 2500cm-1 region agrees very well with solar absorption spectrum, where
new lines have been detected in the present experiment in addition to the lines observed from a hollow cathode discharge. When O2 was added to the carbon ablation, emissions from vibrationally excited CO
were observed with non-equilibrium vibrational distribution.

We successfully fabricated germanium immersion gratings with resolving power of 45,000 at 10micron meter wavelength by using a nano precision 3D grindinge machine and ELID (ELectrolytic In-process Dressing) method. We propose grooves shape with a new principle for a solid grating, which achieves high performance and lower cost.
