Nevertheless, in our country, most of such archives are not available to the third party people. This paper introduces the joint projects of NHK Enterprises and Naxos for distributing a part of NHK radio broadcast archive digitally and physically. We will focus on the advantage of digital distribution as a means for spreading valuable but less popular materials, and legal and moral issues concerning rights handling.

The present project is an innovative attempt to make a comprehensive study of various phases of thought and arguments concerned with the concept of absence and negation by organizing the core research team consisting of leading scholars of Nyaya-Vaisesika, Vedanta, Mimamsa, Grammar and Buddhist philosophy. 51 papers, 26 oral presentations and 8 books have been produced in connection with this project. Especially noteworthy is a publication of the collection of 11 papers concerned with a comparative study of Indian and Western concepts of nothing, philosophical implication of the grammatical concept of two kinds of the function of a negative particle, and controversies among Nyaya, Mimamsa, Advaita Vedanta and Buddhist philosophy over the ontological and epistemological status of absence or negation. The most advanced achievement has been made with reference to the controversial development of the epistemology of absence between Bhatta Mimamsa and Nyaya (including Navya-nyaya).

Very few comprehensive studies have been made about the various concepts of causality and karmic retribution in Indian philosophy and Buddhist thought. In order to challenge this central theme of philosophy, we have organized the project team which consists of five scholars of Nyaya-Vaisesika (the representative pluralistic System of Indian philosophy), one scholar of Vedanta (the representative monistic System) and two scholars of Buddhist philosophy (the dynamic philosophical system that developed the thought of interdependence). Our four-year research scheme has been arranged as an organic coordination of each individual study with joint research. In the third year we presented a panel to discuss the topic of how to determine the causality with a special reference to anvaya-vyatireka. Twenty two papers were published and thirty three oral presentations were made in connection with the present project.A report was produced with 253 pages.

This project involved the creation of new material for the historical study of Indian New Logic (Nayva Nyaya). (1) I edited Jayadeva’s Sabdamanyaloka (chapters 1 to 5) and published it on my website. I used the TEI-based XML schema with minor extensions for the content, and the Bitbucket/git for its version control and distribution. (2) I attempted to identify all five manuscripts of Raghunatha’s Sabdamanididhiti mentioned in the New Catalogus Catalogorum, along with the sixth one that was recently discovered in Kolkata. Finally, I confirmed that three manuscripts (1 Kolkata and 2 Varanasi) are mistitled; one (Leipzig) does not refer to any particular manuscript of Didhiti; and two in private collections are not locatable. There are, however, evidences that validate the existence of the Sabdamanididhithi.
