This examination of the TITP will assess why this programme continues to grow and what function it serves in the Japanese labour market. The first question will be answered through questionnaires and key informant interviews with current and former trainees. The second question will be addressed with the employers of trainees. Answering these questions will in turn illustrate what efforts the Japanese government and private sector are making to combat the issues of workforce shortages and demographic decline that pose important challenges to Japan’s future economic prosperity.
日本での現在または元技術インターンである101人の回答者から定性的および定量的データを収集しました。これらの分析結果は、移民の満足度、仕事および社会活動を通じた日本社会へのつながり（統合レベル）、および日本の労働移民政策の「裏口」から「正面入り口」への移行を検証するための記事の処理中です。また、インドネシアの技術インターンの生活体験に関する短編ドキュメンタリー映画も完成しました。残りの予算は、「移民と多文化主義」図書館の構築に使用されました。これにより、研究者は自分の結果を学術論文で裏付け、移民と統合研究に焦点を当てている研究室の大学院生に利益をもたらすことができます。
この研究は、日本の「典型的な」移民労働者の中規模のサンプルを用いた混合手法を用いることで実証的な貢献を行います。これは、移民が日本での仕事や生活をどのように経験し、それらを社会的および経済的なクラスの文脈に位置づけるかについて貴重な洞察を提供します。方法論的には、現象学的な混合手法アプローチは、以前の研究とは異なり、広範なトレンドやグループ（国籍）を見て移民を非個人化するか、危機状況にある移民労働者の小規模な質的分析に焦点を当てた非典型的な経験（エッジケース）を扱うものとは異なります。 -

日本・メキシコ両政府により1971年から継続されている交換留学制度は、50年以上の間に、合計約5000名の修了生を生み出してきた。両国の友好促進という目的は保持されながら、各時代の経済社会情勢によって、留学の形や内容は変化しつつ、大きな成果を生んできた。
日本人修了生は、メキシコへの愛着や親近感を深め、メキシコやラテンアメリカの言語文化を習得し、多様性への寛容さや人生を楽しむ価値観、予測できない事態への対応力などを生活に生かしている。メキシコ人修了生は、計画性や自律性を生活や仕事の中に取りいれつつ、習得した科学技術や芸術の成果のさらなる活用を希求している。本制度の改善と継続が求められている。
日本・メキシコにとって互いに非伝統的な留学先での留学経験が、どのような成果を生んできたのかを明らかにすることができた。留学成果には、制度の目的や設計、両国の社会状況や文化が大きく影響する。また、コロナ禍で盛んになったオンラインによる国際教育交流（オンライン留学）と比べて、渡航型留学がどのような特徴を持つのかについても検討した。
日本人留学経験者、メキシコ人留学経験者双方とって、留学経験は異文化性を身に着けることに繋がったが、その意味は各時代の社会状況や、各国の文化によって異なっている。また渡航型留学では各人の価値観がより大きく揺さぶられる。以上は今後の留学制度を検討するうえで示唆を与えている。 -
