    Hydrogenated carbon nitride is synthesized by polymerization of 1,5-naphthyridine, a nitrogen-containing heteroaromatic compound, under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions. The polymerization progressed significantly at temperatures above 573 K at 0.5 GPa and above 623 K at 1.5 GPa. The reaction temperature was relatively lower than that observed for pure naphthalene, suggesting that the reaction temperature is considerably lowered when nitrogen atoms exist in the aromatic ring structure. The polymerization reaction largely progresses without significant change in the N/C ratio. Three types of dimerization are identified; naphthylation, exact dimerization, and dimerization with hydrogenation as determined from the gas chromatograph-mass spectrometry analysis of soluble products. Infrared spectra suggest that hydrogenation products were likely to be formed with sp3 carbon and NH bonding. Solid-state 13C nuclear magnetic resonance reveals that the sp3/sp2 ratio is 0.14 in both the insoluble solids synthesized at 0.5 and 1.5 GPa. Not only the dimers but also soluble heavier oligomers and insoluble polymers formed through more extensive polymerization. The major reaction mechanism of 1,5-Nap was common to both the 0.5 and 1.5 GPa experiments, although the required reaction temperature increased with increasing pressure and aromatic rings preferentially remained at the higher pressure.

    The phase changes and chemical reaction of phthalazine was investigated at pressures <2.5 GPa and temperatures <300 ℃ to discuss behavior of nitrogen in sedimentary organic compounds in subducting slab. A phase change to high-pressure phase was observed at 0.4 GPa, 22℃. A distinct decrease of remaining phthalazine was observed in the samples recovered from the conditions above 250-275℃ at <1.5 GPa. Formation of decomposed and polymerized products with a decreasing N/C ratio indicate that nitrogen atoms in the aromatic ring induced decomposition of the molecule.

    <p>Oligomerization of alanine was observed by pressurizing its solid-free aqueous solution. Co-occurring solidifications of alanine and H<sub>2</sub>O as immiscible phases at high pressure were found to be crucial for concentrating the solute, alanine. The pressure-induced freeze concentration also enhances the pressure-induced oligomerization.</p>

    The stability and pressure-induced chemical reactions of naphthalene were investigated at room temperature at pressures up to 23 GPa. In-situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements indicated that naphthalene retained its crystal structure up to ∼20 GPa, whereas a solid amorphous phase was observed in the recovered samples. Based on microanalysis of the recovered samples using Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS), naphthalene dimer and trimer isomers were observed at pressures exceeding 15 GPa. The dimers were classified as products of simple dimerization, naphthylation, and condensation, similar to the case of the pressure-induced dimerization of benzene, indicating a similar dimerization mechanism for naphthalene.

    A new method for identifying the molecular species of soluble organic matter (SOM) and insoluble organic matter (IOM) in solvent-extractable meteorite organic matter was investigated. Molecular species of SOM, IOM, and IOM hydrolysates in meteorites were covalently bonded to non-lipidic polycations, and meteorite organic matter - polymer derivatives were identified by nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry. Reagents corresponding to previously reported meteorite organics and conditions for polymer derivatization of meteorite organics samples were investigated. IOM in meteorites was obtained in high yield by solubilization of inorganic salts with N-benzoylphenylhydroxylamine.Nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry were applicable to meteorite-non-lipidic polycationic molecules with ranging from 100 to 10k Da in meteorites.

    本研究では、溶存有機物の 70%以上を占める分子量 1,000 以下の低分子量溶存有機物に着目して 有機分子種同定のための新たな方法を開発・提案する。具体的には、低分子量溶存有機物を非脂質性ポリカチオン分子と共有結合させ高分子誘導体として得たのち、核 磁気共鳴法により「海洋の低分子量溶存有機物を高分子誘導体の官能基として捉え、その組成 を明らかにする」ことで、低分子量海洋溶存有機物を構成する分子種を明らかにすることを目的とする。
    本年度は、植物プランクトン、高分子量溶存有機物からの低分子量溶存有機物生成モデル実験を行った。昨年度に得られた高分子量溶存態有機物試料を新鮮な海水に添加し、冷暗所に 保存した。途中経過を適宜、限外ろ過を行い、有機炭素計、高速液体クロマトグラフィーを用いて、低分子量溶存態有機物とその同定可能成分(脂質、糖、アミノ酸)の濃度をモニタリングした。この実験結果から高分子量溶存態有機物からの低分子量溶存態有機物の生成速度を推定するとともに、植物プランクトン、高分子量溶存態有機物から低分子量溶存有機物への移行の特徴、溶存態有機物全体の化学的特性を実験的に把握した。
    本年度に実施する予定であった現場観測は航海の機会に恵まれず、試料採取が行えなかった。研究計画に基づいた実験等の実施を行うことが合理的と判断し、研究の実施期間を延長申請を行った。これにより、低分子量溶存有機物の分子種とその化学構造、分布特性および生成モ デル実験データから海洋低分子量溶存有機物の動態を考察する。
    平成28年度に予定していた現場観測において荒天によりまして試料採取が実施できなかった。また本研究において中心的な分析機器であるNMR装置が移設工事により分析が中断したため遅延が生じた。
    来年度の研究航海の実施が内定し、機器の移設工事も完了したため、期間延長により研究遂行が可能な状況にある。
    来年度に研究航海の実施の内定及びNMR装置の移設工事も完了したため、現場観測及びNMR分析の消耗品購入に使用する予定である。
