    Bridge superstructures were washed away in the 2011 Tohoku earthquake tsunami. To determine whether and when bridge superstructures are washed away, it is essential to evaluate the temporal change in horizontal and vertical tsunami forces. In this study, tsunami force acting on bridge superstructures and its estimation formulae are investigated from hydraulic model experiments and numerical simulations. From experimental results, it is found that it can be determined from a comparison between the temporal change in horizontal tsunami force and that in static friction force taking into account vertical tsunami force whether and when a bridge superstructure move. Furthermore, a drag force equation with the projection area taking into account water surface elevation and a Morison equation in which inertia force is added to the drag force equation are proposed for horizontal tsunami force, and an estimation formula composed of buoyancy force and downward lift force is proposed for vertical tsunami force. From a comparison with numerical results, it was revealed that the estimation formulae can predict the temporal change in the horizontal and vertical tsunami forces except for short wave period, suggesting that it can be evaluated using the estimation formulae whether and when a bridge superstructures moves.

    三重県南部に位置する七里御浜では海岸侵食が深刻な問題となって久しく,特に侵食が厳しい井田海岸では,様々な海岸侵食対策が行われてきた.しかし,依然として礫浜の回復には至っていないのが現状である.本研究では,同海岸を対象に行った3回のUAV-SfM測量と,ネットワークカメラによる撮影画像から,礫浜の海浜変形について検討した.その結果,礫浜の広範囲な3次元モデルの取得や断面図および体積量の算定を行えることから,海浜変形の把握にUAV-SfM測量が有用であることを示した.また,七里御浜井田海岸において,沿岸方向となる波向かつ有義波高4 m以上の波浪状況のときに侵食性,法線方向となる波向きかつ有義波高2 ~4 m程度の波浪状況のときに堆積性,有義波周期や波向に関係なく,有義波高1 m程度の波浪条件が続くときに安定状態の傾向になることを示した.

    フラップゲート式防潮堤は,通常地面に倒伏し,水位に追従して起立・倒伏を行う津波防御施設である.従来型のフラップゲート式防潮堤は,両側部戸当り内に扉体動作開始の補助,ならびに動作完了時の制動の役割を果たすカウンターウエイトを設けている.しかし,カウンターウエイトは,扉体先端の両側2点で扉体本体を支持するため,径間の広い開口部への適用は現実的ではない.そこで,カウンターウエイトを扉体の背後に設置し,複数の扉体を緩やかに連結することで,支持間隔の長大化を抑制した長径間型フラップゲート式防潮堤の提案を行う.本研究では,8門の扉体を有した実験模型を対象とし,津波を模擬した水位変化に対する扉体動作の確実性,扉体に作用する波力等を計測することで当該設備の防御性能および成立性の確認を行った.作用させる模擬津波の条件や実験模型の波向き角度を変えた一連の水理実験を通じて,扉体には,設計可能な範囲で荷重が作用することがわかった.また,全ての実験条件で扉体は正常に連続した防潮壁を構築し,当該設備の防御性能を確認した.

    Using coastal buildings for the emergency evacuation process in an unexpected tsunami event is an effective measure in flat widespread coastal areas. This is especially true in countries such as Japan located adjacent to the faults of tectonic plates, and having only a very limited time frame for evacuation following a tsunami warning. Well-constructed tsunami evacuation buildings can play a vital role under such circumstances. This makes proper understanding of tsunami force and its variation in different building configurations vital in the engineering design of such buildings. In this study, we assessed tsunami force estimation methods for buildings consisting of openings. We also discuss the influence of their internal configurations and orientations for incoming tsunami flow based on physical model experiments and numerical simulation and analysis. Results indicated that the arrangement of internal building configurations with large openings is important in estimating tsunami force, and that building orientation related to the direction in which the tsunami approaches also affects tsunami force, mainly due to the change in effective area directly facing the tsunami.

    海岸侵食は我が国のみならず世界的に深刻な問題になっているが,その抜本的な対策工法は未だ確立されていない.その大きな原因は侵食の機構,特に沿岸漂砂の発生機構が解明されていないことが挙げられる.水理模型実験はその解明の主要な手法であるが,平面水槽は水槽側壁が波動場と沿岸漂砂に及ぼす影響が除去できず,沿岸漂砂の機構解明の大きな支障になっている.本件研究はその支障を取り除く円形水槽(円状の海浜模型のため端部がない)を用いた実験により沿岸漂砂の機構解明を行うとともに数値解析によりその発生機構を明らかにするものである.あわせてこれまで未解明のビーチカスプの生成機構の解明も行うものである.

    This study proposed a statistical model to estimate the risk of tsunami-related fire spreading, based on data on areal conditions and damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. The model to best explain tsunami-related fire spreading incidents in Yamada town, Otsuchi town and Kesennuma city was constructed in terms of averaged tsunami inundation depth in an evaluated grid cell (EGC), areal ratio of lost buildings in cells of the seaward side of EGC, areal ratio of lost buildings in EGC, the number of households in EGC, and existence of a dike in EGC in order of its significant impact to the estimation. Motion of an object or objects flowed on land by a tsunami was examined in a series of repeated model experiments in which an object angle to the flow direction and spatial arrangement of objects were changed as initial condition. Experimental results could affirm the debris spreading angle of ±22.5° observed in the Great East Japan Earthquake by Naito et al (2014).

In the initial stage, on-offshore sediment transport is developed to form the equilibrium beach profile. Then, the longshore sediment transport is developed by the longshore current which is caused by spacial gradient of the mean water level after wave breaking. This phenomena is confirmed by the behavior of fluoressent sand in the experiments. Flow field is investigated not only in the experiment but also the three-dimensional simulation developed by the present research. In the numerical simulation method, full nonlinear wave field in the circular wave tank and spiral wave maker is simulated.

    The mechanism of tsunami-induced erosion of bridge-abutment backfill and effectiveness of countermeasures were investigated using hydraulic experiments and numerical simulations. Experimental results showed that the backfill close to the abutment was eroded and the backfill on the far side of the abutment remained relatively intact, which was a similar phenomenon to that observed after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake tsunami. From comparison with experimental data, the computational capability of the numerical model, FS3M, was demonstrated in terms of water surface fluctuation and surface profile change in the backfill. From numerical results, the process in which the backfill inside the abutment flowed out from under the landward wing was observed and the mechanism of the process was revealed in terms of bedload and suspended load transport. From numerical experiments, an increase in the soil-cover depth of the wing would be effective against the erosion of the backfill.
