本研究では、バルト海周辺諸語のそれぞれについて、否定を表す要素の出現位置や共起関係が意味解釈に及ぼす影響を、文脈や情報構造を参照しつつ、機能主義的観点から解明するとともに、当該の事象について、微視的類型論および地域言語学的観点から、研究対象となるバルト海周辺諸語間の対照研究を行う。また、本研究によって得られたバルト海周辺諸語に関する考察結果を踏まえて、否定に係る一般的な言語理論に対し修正や拡充の提案を行うとともに、否定が「語り」の組織化に果たす役割を解明することにより、機能主義的な統語理論の精緻化に貢献する。
本研究では、対象言語（フィンランド語、アイスランド語、リトアニア語、ロシア語、スウェーデン語、デンマーク語等）のパラレル・コーパスを活用することとしているが、平成29年度～令和元年度（新型コロナウィルス感染症のため令和3年度まで延長）に補助を受けた別の科学研究費課題で作成した『星の王子さま』のパラレル・コーパスのみでは本研究の遂行に十分ではないと判断し、今年度は『ハリー・ポッターと賢者の石』のパラレル・コーパス作成作業に取り組んだ。
その上で、対象となる各言語において、否定の副詞または否定を含む代名詞など、否定を表す要素の出現位置や共起関係等に関する調査を行った。調査結果を突き合せた結果、各言語の否定表現は、副詞によるもの、形容詞によるもの、不定代名詞によるもの、それらの組み合わせによるものなど様々であることを確認した。また、本研究が対象言語間の対照研究を企図していることから、調査結果に基づき、否定に関わる統語事象のうち、本研究における主たる考察対象を選定した。具体的には、否定を表す要素の文中における出現位置とその歴史的変遷、主節－従属節間における否定を表す要素の移動および否定のスコープの調節等を主たる考察対象として、次年度以降、継続して調査を進めることとした。
研究代表者、研究分担者、研究協力者による定期的な研究打ち合わせは、新型コロナウィルス感染症のため、オンラインで行うとともに、随時、メール等で情報共有を図った。本年度中に予定していた海外現地調査については、引き続き海外渡航が困難な状況にあったため、次年度以降に持ち越すこととした。
令和３年度の当初計画では、海外における現地調査を予定していたが、新型コロナウィルス感染症が未だ収束せず、海外渡航が困難だったため。また、参加メンバーの中に、研究に従事できない個人的事情が生じたため。
次年度は、パラレル・コーパスの拡充に取り組むとともに、本研究の主たる考察対象に選定した事象に関し、具体例に即した考察を進める。その際、コーパスを活用するとともに、本年度実施できなかった分も含めて海外現地調査を行い、ある表現に関して、他の表現で代替することが可能かどうか、可能な場合、何らかの意味的な違いが生じるかどうか等について、母語話者から聞き取り調査を行う。聞き取り調査の結果を元に、各言語の事象を機能主義的観点から考察するとともに、その考察結果を定期的に開催する検討会に持ち寄って、微視的類型論の観点から言語間の対照研究に発展させる。 -

本年度は、本研究課題で作成した『星の王子さま』のパラレル・コーパス及びその他の各種コーパスを用いて行ってきたバルト海周辺諸語における不定人称文の対照研究の分析結果について、その妥当性を検証するため、海外現地調査を行う予定であった。この現地調査は、本来2019年度に予定されていたものだが、新型コロナウィルス感染症の世界的な拡大の影響で2019年度中には実施できず、やむなく2020年度に持ち越したものの、2020年度も実施することができなかった。そのため、2021年度中の実施を期して、さらに補助事業期間を1年延長したところではあったが、新型コロナウィルス感染症の影響が予想外に長引き、結局、本年度も現地調査の実施には至らなかった。オンライン上で各言語の専門家と意見交換を行うなどの代替措置は講じたものの、現地調査で予定していた調査のすべてを代替することはできず、幸い2022年度まで本研究課題の延長が認められたため、現地調査は2022年度に持ち越すこととした。
本年度も、研究代表者、研究分担者、研究協力者による定期的な研究打ち合わせをオンラインで行ったほか、随時、メール等で情報共有を図った。また、本年度の新規の取組として、分析の対象となる言語データの一層の拡充を図るため、『星の王子さま』に加えて、『ハリー・ポッターと賢者の石』のパラレル・コーパスを作成した。個々の言語についても、例えば、アイスランド語で常に3人称単数形で用いられ、同一節内の名詞句と一致をしない非人称動詞のうち、対格項をとる動詞について、対格項の意味的特徴と、共起する成分の形態的・意味的特徴に基づく分類を行うなど、本研究課題の最終とりまとめに向けた作業を継続して実施した。
本来、本科研費は2019年度で終了する予定であったが、最終盤に予定していた海外調査が新型コロナウィルス感染症の発生により実施できず、そのため、2020年度、2021年度と期間が延長されてきた。しかしながら、2021年度においても、海外渡航を行うことは困難であり、加えて年度末には、調査対象地域の近傍であるウクライナが戦争状態となったため、やむなくもう一年度、補助事業期間を延長することとした。
2022年度は、本来、2019年度末に行うはずだった海外現地調査を、海外渡航が可能な状況になり次第、早急に行う。また、本研究課題に関連して研究代表者が研究発表を行う予定であった国際学会（国際フィンウゴル学会）も、新型コロナウィルス感染症の影響で開催が延期されていたが、2022年8月に開催される見込みとなったため、同学会での研究発表を行い、海外現地調査の結果や国際学会での発表を受けて、本研究課題による研究成果を最終的に取りまとめる。 -

Crosslinguistic investigation of morphology relating to anticausativization

Anticausativization is a voice category deriving intransitive verbs from transitive verbs by removing the transitive subject. In many languages, anticausativization is one of the functions of the reflexive marker. In this research plan, we attempted to investigate the range of anticausative morphology usage through an analysis of languages and dialects employing reflexive morphemes as well as languages and dialects employing morphemes other than the reflexive.
This project enabled us to gather anticausative related data from the internet using Crawler. The outcomes of this research project include the clarification of the semantic difference between lexical intransitive verbs and morphologically derived anticausatives sharing common verbal roots and a tentative version of a semantic map for anticausativization using not only reflexive morphemes but also non-reflexive morphemes.
